good job. It's simple but I'm impressed with how good it it looks. simple but effective!
Very smooth!
My only criticism is that the "pixel resolution" for the track, the side obstacles and the mountains kind of clash with the car. It's as if the car was from a ColecoVision, the track from a Mega Drive and the mountains from an Atari 2600 game.
yeah I am working some kinks out, but I’m very grateful for your feedback and am glad you otherwise had a nice experience with the game.
I'm happy to see another pseudo-3D racing game besides my own and it's nice to see that it works on my tablet. If I try to run my own game on it, it will probably explode.
Your project seems to have quite a bit of potential with all those corners and turns and trackside objects. The road is randomly generated, I believe? Being able to create something like this is an achievement by itself, right?
But the experience is a bit flat. I'm not a big fan of holding the throttle and simply pressing left and right to navigate the turns. And it doesn't help that there aren't any sound effects, or music.
On the other hand: the ranked mode is brutal with all those cars cluttering the road. It's nice to see that they seem to actually race each other, but perhaps there are too many cars on screen? In my own game I have limited the amount of cars on screen at the same time to 5 I believe.
Esthetics wise, I think the draw distance is a bit short, but that's perhaps a performance decision? But maybe tweaking the FOV (or however you've programmed it) might make it prettier. Now the road is obviously cut off.
And a bit more variety would be nice to see. Oh, and perhaps a cool looking car. ;-)
So with a bit more depth I might enjoy this game a bit more. At this moment there aren't a lot of reasons for me to keep on playing.
Thank you so much for the feedback! It is greatly appreciated!
No problem and good luck with the development!
